Collierville (1-0) defeated Ripley 10-0 on Monday thanks in part to seven runs in the fourth inning. JD Whitworth homered to left field, scoring three runs, Cael Allen homered to center field, scoring two runs, Jack Bogenreif singled, scoring one run, and Ian Chambers hit a solo home run to center field.
The Dragons got on the board in the top of the first inning after Brody Winemiller singled, Tanner Wages doubled, and Jack Bogenreif was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
Nate Myers (1-0) earned the win for Collierville. The right-hander surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Ari Bethea pitched three innings in relief for the Dragons. The junior surrendered one hit and zero runs while striking out seven and walking one. Glenn took the loss for Ripley. He went two and one-third innings, giving up two runs on four hits, striking out six and walking none.
Collierville piled up nine hits in the game. Allen went 2-3 at the plate to lead the Dragons in hits. Whitworth led CHS with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-2 on the day. Collierville did not commit a single error in the field. AJ Greene had the most chances in the field with seven.
