Dragons Suffer First Loss to James Clemens (Madison, AL)

Collierville (2-1) donates six unearned runs including seven free passes in 10-4 loss to James Clemens at Patriot Bank Park.  

 

James Clemens were the first to get on the board in the first when Hayden Markfort grounded out, scoring one run.  The Jets added one run in the second on an error by AJ Greene.  

 

In the bottom of the second inning, Collierville went back into the lead after Jack Bogenreif hit into a fielder choice, Ian Chambers tripled, and Harrison Snell grounded out, each scoring a run.  

 

Jame Clemens flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 7-3 lead.  The biggest blow in the inning was a single by David Sharp that drove in two.  

 

Cade McComb earned the win for James Clemens.  He allowed four hits and four runs over six and one-third innings, striking out five and walking one.  Tyler Robinson pitched four innings in relief for Collierville.  The Freshman gave up two hits and one earned run while striking out seven and walking one in his varsity debut.  Ayden Jacobs (0-1) took the loss for the Dragons.  The junior went two and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out four and walking one.  

 

Ian Chambers led Collierville with two hits and Hayden Short stole two bases.
