Despite trailing by as many as four runs, Collierville (5-1) rallied to top Dyer County 8-6 on Thursday.
Dyer County got on the board in the top of the first inning after John Smith singled, and Landon Willis grounded out, each scoring a run.
The Choctaws added to their lead in the top of the third inning after Willis grounded out, and Collierville committed an error, each scoring a run.
In the bottom of the fifth, after an hour rain/lighting delay, Collierville went back into the lead after Cael Allen singled, Brody Winemiller hit a sacrifice fly, and Ayden Jacobs singled, each scoring one run.
Jack Lester (1-0) earned the win for the Dragons. The senior allowed two hits and one earned run over four innings, striking out three and walking two. Ridge Harvey began the game for Collierville. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and two runs over one-third of an inning, walking three. Nate Myers appeared in relief of Harvey.
Ian Chambers seized on his opportunities, leading Collierville with two runs batted in. The junior outfielder was 1-3 on the day. Allen and Hayden Short each collected two hits for the Dragons.
