Collierville Varsity Dragons edged Briarcrest 4–3 on Tuesday.
Jacob Caruso put Collierville on the board with a single in the bottom of the first. Briarcrest tied it in the fourth when Andrew Rivera doubled to left on an 0-2 count.
The Dragons answered in the bottom half of the inning, as Houston Jenkins doubled to bring home a run and give Collierville a 2–1 lead.
Sophomore Ronnie Sims earned the win, allowing three runs on six hits over 5⅓ innings while striking out five and walking one. Brady Crenshaw took the loss for Briarcrest. Dyersburg State CC commit Reece Denman recorded the save, striking out all five batters he faced over 1⅔ innings.
Brady Sumner led the offense with two RBIs, going 2-for-3. Collierville also played a clean game defensively, committing no errors, with Parker Burleson recording a team-high 10 chances in the field.
The Dragons travel to Murfreesboro for the Warrior Classic and will face Siegel on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
