Both teams were strong on the bump on Monday, but Munford was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-0 victory over Collierville. Ronnie Sims started the game for Collierville Varsity Dragons and recorded nine outs.

A solo home run to left field by Curly Lowry on an 0-2 count put Munford on the board in the bottom of the third.

Stephen Kemp earned the win for Munford. The pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking two. Sims took the loss for the Dragons. The sophomore pitcher went three innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out four and walking none.

Parker Burleson, Hudson Snell, and Preston Sumner each collected one hit for the Dragons.

Collierville will try to bounce back at home on Tuesday against Munford. First pitch is set for 6:30 at Patriot Bank Park.
